Updated new info: Migrating from service to container having issues pushing to remote

Gogs docker container - version : latest / digest : 1c4223301026
Using MariaDB version 10.6.4
Arch linux 5.14.2

Hi so I am in the process of moving my gogs instance into a docker container on another machine and I moved the gogs-repositories to the correct location as per [https://github.com/gogs/gogs/tree/main/docker#usage](the documentation) and changed the custom config file app.ini to point at my old database and everything looks fine so far, I can login with 2FA and everything seems to be there however anytime I try to push ANYTHING I get the following

! [remote rejected] logdata -> logdata (pre-receive hook declined)
error: failed to push some refs to 'https://git.mydomain.com/User/repo.git'

Also nothing in the logs about what may be wrong just :

2021/09/14 05:46:25 [TRACE] [Git] Authenticated user: User
2021/09/14 05:46:25 [TRACE] [Git] Authenticated user: User

So I updated the hooks files and now I get the error:

Total 0 (delta 0), reused 0 (delta 0), pack-reused 0
remote: *** Project description file hasn't been set
remote: Gogs: Internal error
remote: error: hook declined to update refs/heads/branch
To https://git.mydomain.com/User/repo.git
! [remote rejected] branch -> branch (hook declined)
error: failed to push some refs to 'https://git.mydomain.com/User/repo.git'

This happens for all repos whenever I try to push anything.
Now I’m not entirely sure what the issue seems to be, maybe file permissions? any ideas abut how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

OK so I just started a container from scratch and moved things manually one by one took a lot longer than it should have but the error is gone.
